• SME in Horizon product suite, with proven track record of deployment and operational maintenance.
• Proven track record of working in a complex and multi-faceted organisation using a wide variety of current and legacy infrastructure technology components.
• Extensive experience in the wider VMWare suite of products.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements and focus on current / future business needs.
• Assess the requirements and offer solutions to the approved roadmap of services driving new product capability and service catalogues, that are in line with the strategic vision for the enterprise and wider best practice.
• Provide guidance to the HPM team on Horizon technologies and lifecycle management.
• Ensure that appropriate product roadmaps are maintained and that appropriate plans are in place for periodic review.
• Provide technical input during the development of new/enhanced systems and ensure that all essential elements (methods and tools, functionality, service quality, systems management etc.) are considered.
• Perform solution options analysis and product selection with focus on risk, service assurance and total Cost of Ownership.
• Provide cover support within the JLR private cloud as required.
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

Essential:

• Recent real world VMware Horizon implementation and operational support in a large Enterprise Environment.
• Implementation experience with Horizon as a broker to AVD.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills, utilising VROPs and other monitoring tools to identify issues impacting or potentially impacting on the end user experience.
• NVDIA GRID.
• Performance tuning to desktop images to work on a global basis.
• Non-persistent desktop image/template creation and management with DEM manager, GPO administration and APPVOL deployments.
• General VMware product suite knowledge and troubleshooting skills including VSAN and NSX.
• Process awareness and ability to document Standard Operating Procedures for all to understand and follow.
• Horizon lifecycle management and patching experience.
• Security awareness to evolve the security stance within a service wrap, the ultimate goal to securely offer BYOD as a catalogue item.
• Self starter always looking for the next 1% improvement.

Desirable:

• Ability to do basic NSX-T, vSphere & VSAN troubleshooting and problem analysis.
• Experience of migrating from Workspace One on Prem to SaaS solution.
• Okta security posture checking.
