5 to 8 Years Relevant Experience
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Teradata DBA Administrator with 5–8 years of experience in managing and supporting Teradata environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, performance monitoring, backup/recovery, and security management across multiple Teradata systems. This role requires a strong understanding of Teradata architecture and hands-on experience in database administration and optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Teradata software and related components.
- Manage and execute database backup, recovery, and migration processes.
- Establish and maintain disaster recovery policies and procedures.
- Proactively monitor and tune database performance to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
- Implement and maintain robust database security measures.
- Maintain detailed documentation, standards, and procedures for database environments.
- Support and manage multiple Teradata systems, including enterprise data warehouses and independent marts.
- Collaborate with system and development teams to ensure optimal use of hardware resources and database performance.
- Manage database upgrades and the rollout of new features and improvements.
- Support the implementation and release of database changes from the development team.
- Perform user, database, role, and profile management activities.
- Conduct SQL performance tuning and analysis.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with Teradata database administration, performance tuning, and system monitoring.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL and database performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of Teradata roles, users, databases, and access management.
- Experience in backup, restore, disaster recovery, and data migration processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Teradata Viewpoint, Teradata Tools and Utilities (TTU).
- Knowledge of scripting (Shell, Python) for automation tasks.
- Exposure to data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Experience working in cloud-based Teradata environments is a plus.
