Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan and execute packaging engineering assignments related to major life cycle management initiatives
• Develop materials and structural aspects of packaging including primary, secondary, and tertiary components to deliver robust packaging systems
• Design, create, and approve component specifications
• Collaborate with R&D on primary component designs and product changes
• Lead package design development and assessments; create documentation such as Package Component Specifications, Package Development Assessments, Line Trial Protocols, and Development Reports
• Lead packaging development projects from concept through launch
• Coordinate physical testing to ensure package integrity throughout the supply chain
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for packaging issues in manufacturing or the field
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and corporate guidelines in all packaging activities
• Execute packaging line trials and testing as part of validation and improvement processes
• Work with cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and maintain proper documentation
• Create copy and graphics specifications, pallet patterns, and finished goods specifications
• Perform SAP-related tasks including data entry, raw material code requests, bill of material creation, and revisions

Experience Required

• 4 to 6 years of industry experience, with at least 3 years specifically in packaging development
• Experience in consumer goods, OTC, or pharmaceutical industries is mandatory
• Must have worked in a GMP-regulated environment
• Technical knowledge of packaging materials, development processes, testing, and related equipment is essential

Desirable Skills

• Experience with package component development, specification creation, and line trials
• Proficiency in cGMP documentation, SAP systems, and graphics/labeling processes
• Familiarity with AutoCAD (ACAD) and ability to collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Operations, and Sales teams
• Strong project management background in technical settings
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Skills in customer focus, accountability, and strategic thinking
• Knowledge of process excellence methodologies and tools; Six Sigma certification is preferred
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and business skills
• Ability to define project success criteria and monitor project activities effectively
