We are looking for an experienced Cisco Viptela (SD-WAN) Administrator to join our network infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Cisco SD-WAN architecture, routing and switching technologies, and network automation. You will be responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing enterprise-scale SD-WAN solutions while ensuring seamless connectivity and network performance across multi-vendor environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) environments, ensuring stability, scalability, and performance.
- Manage and configure routing and switching technologies, including IGP, OSPF, EGP, BGP, STP, RSTP, VTP, VSS, vPC, vDC, MSTP, LACP, and VLAN.
- Perform deployment and management of Cisco SDA (Wired/Wireless infrastructure) using Cisco DNA Center.
- Implement and troubleshoot VxLAN, LISP, and related overlay technologies.
- Utilize Python, Ansible, and REST APIs for network automation, configuration management, and software programmability.
- Validate technology designs, software releases, and Cisco solutions for customer projects to ensure optimal performance and alignment with business needs.
- Build and test customer simulation environments in lab setups to troubleshoot complex issues and validate compatibility.
- Develop and execute test cases and scripts based on customer test environments and project requirements.
- Identify and document defects, collaborate with development teams, and drive timely issue resolution.
- Work across Core and Edge Networking technologies, tackling multi-functional technical challenges.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, design recommendations, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Support Professional Services goals, ensuring adherence to company standards, policies, and processes.
- Act as an individual contributor, collaborating with global teams and clients to deliver exceptional results.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco SD-WAN Architecture, Components, and Roles.
- Proficiency in Enterprise Routing and familiarity with Service Provider Layer 2 & Layer 3 VPN Services.
- Experience with Cisco ISR1K/4K, ASR1K, Cat8K, and vEdge platforms.
- Expertise in routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and switching technologies (STP, HSRP, VRRP, VLAN, EtherChannel, Stack, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with SD-WAN features such as:
- ZTP, Plug-and-Play, TLOC & Colors
- OMP, BFD, NAT Types, TLOC Extension
- Overlay Topologies (Hub-Spoke, Mesh)
- Application-Aware Routing, QoS, Segmentation, Multicast
- Control & Data Policies, Device & Feature Templates
- Remote Access and Cloud Connectivity
- Knowledge of automation scripting, network validation tools, and traffic generators (e.g., Ixia, Spirent).
- Proficiency in creating test setups, performance analysis, and network documentation.
- Familiarity with Multi-Region Fabric, Cloud OnRamp (IaaS, SaaS, Multi-Cloud), ThousandEyes, and IOS-XE Security (good to have).
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (B.Tech / M.Tech / B.E / B.S).
- Cisco Certifications:
- Highly Desired: CCIE, CCNP (Enterprise, Security, or SD-WAN specialization).
