An APIC Developer is primarily responsible for designing, developing, and managing APIs using the API Connect platform. The role involves collaborating with various teams, including front-end and back-end developers, to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Key responsibilities include API design, development, security implementation, performance optimization, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for design and development of integrated middleware solutions through DataPower gateways and APIC.
- Configure Multi-Protocol Gateway, Web Service Proxies, and XML Firewall for exposing or consuming web services and APIs over Internet and Intranet.
- Handle basic authorization issues leaking into error messages before configuring Web Services proxy with WSRR using manual/automatic synchronization methods.
- Create SSL Proxies to authenticate protocol-level security for HTTPS service communications.
- Design, develop, and implement APIs using API Connect.
- Manage and publish APIs in the Developer portal.
- Coding, gateway scripting, and API creation.
- Security implementation using JWT, OAuth.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge and experience on IBM API Connect as an APIM tool.
- API design, development, and management.
- Experience with DataPower gateways, Web Service Proxies, and XML Firewall.
- Security implementation using JWT and OAuth.
- Gateway scripting and coding skills.
- Debugging and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication skills.
